She's a California girl

She relocated to Maryland with her husband and daughter then the blizzard of 2010 hit the Washington DC area with 40 inches of snow: all she has in her closet for footwear are loafers, sandals, and flipflops.

Morning Joe

Just made coffee, Peet's Major Dickason's using a little 2-cup cone drip filter held in a small cheap plastic holder, run into a tall thin travel cup until full. This makes as good a cup of coffee as any method I know: easy, fast, no mess, always satisfying.

Floppy Disk

I recently came across a box containing several unused 3.5 inch floppy disks, the old 1.44MB standard that began to disappear in the 90s. There was a time when I would not own a PC unless it had a 3.5 inch floppy drive and I recalled how much better they were than the old 8 and 5.25 inch disks.

I left them in the box at my workbench. I'll come back in 20 years and sell them on EBay.
