I made my first traverse of the Franconia Ridge Trail in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in 1976, standing on the summits of Mt Lafayette, Mt Lincoln, and Mt Liberty. On that hike, we climbed the Greenleaf Trail to the summit of Mt Lafayette and descended the Liberty Springs Trail after summiting Mt Liberty.
